Founder Brittian Lee graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in entrepreneurship. He later moved to Frankfort, Kentucky, and studied at Kentucky State University, an HBCU, where his path into aquaculture continued to take shape.

Brittian returned home with a clear goal: bring fresh seafood to Kansas, a state traditionally known for beef. Lee Shrimp Co. is raising saltwater shrimp through controlled, land-based aquaculture in Chanute—bringing the surf to the turf.
